So Im watching TV the other night (well really I was kinda listening while I was doing some work) when I hear A Funky Space Reincarnation playing. It got my attention real quick. Turns out its on a Christian Dior commercial. Interesting song for a commercial. That song comes from the album Here My Dear, an album that Gaye had to fork over most of the proceeds to his ex wife. Now I would imagine, most people in that situation would not give their best, knowing that the ex is going to reap the profits but instead, Marvin put together an amazing album. The whole album is about their relationship and the problems they had. Its passionate and you can almost feel the pain. Ironically, when it was released, the album did poorly. Although it gained respect over time.

Marvin Gaye's birthday was on the 2nd of this month and sadly, the aniversary of his death was on the 1st. I thought it might be fitting to post a few of Marvin's songs throughout the month.
